Photographing a Filmmaker

 In Uncategorized

Back on a cool January Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing Rob Lewis for a magazine article. Mr. Lewis is a filmmaker who was born and raised in Charleston, SC, and currently resides in Beaufort. Along with his job for Beaufort County’s The County Channel, Rob is a co-producer of a nature television show called Coastal Kingdom. Coastal Kingdom is a locally produced nature show which is aired throughout South Carolina on SC/ETV.

Rob was a good sport who didn’t seem to mind braving the cold water and getting a little wet in the process of us making some great images for the article. Mr. Lewis was a lot of fun to photograph and we had a great time that afternoon. The late afternoon light was gorgeous and we even found a sea turtle carcass right near where we first started our photo shoot. My fantastic assistant, Morgan Ellis, was a great help doing this shoot too.

The full article is in the February/March 2015 issue of Beaufort Lifestyle Magazine. http://www.beaufortlifestyle.com/ I am a regular contributor to that magazine.

For those people who are interested, I used a Canon 5D Mark III and a few different Canon L series lenses to photograph Rob. Also a bit of fill light from an Paul C. Buff Einstein head powered by a battery pack. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this or any of my other blogs or images.
